Please ensure you have at least v16.5 of the Target Tracker software installed on your computer.
To check this, go to File > About (bottom right-hand corner of File menu box)

At Target Tracker we feel assessment data should only be manually entered once and then imported electronically into other systems.
An export from Target Tracker meets all of the statutory reporting requirements but if your LA have requested that you make the data return for them from your MIS then simply complete Steps 1 and 3 and make your return from your MIS.
Choose what works for you – enter Phonics data into TT and then export to your MIS or vice versa.
All children in Year 1 (and those in Yr2 who did not attain the standard in Summer 2023) have to be assessed using the Phonics Screening Check during the w/c June 10th 2024. Any absentees can be checked w/c June 17th.

Entering Phonics data for Year 1 Children
(you will only be able to do this after the Summer Term Half Term holiday)
Home > Pupil Selection > Select Year 1 > Primary > Tracking Grid > Tests > Phonics Tests
Right click in the Yr1 Phonics column, selecting 'Edit Reading Yr1 Sum2 Yr1 Phonics':
You will now have the option to either type your score into the column or select the score from the drop down menu.
Please note: When you first insert the data the outcome may be incorrect, if the threshold has not been published yet. 40 will show as Working At, everything else will show as Working Towards until the threshold has been confirmed and programmed into the software.
The file can still be created and submitted to the LA as it’s the score they collect not the outcome. Once the threshold has been published the outcomes will be updated in the software.
Entering Phonics data for Year 2 Children
Home > Pupil Selection > Select Year 2 > Primary > Tracking Grid > Tests > Phonics Tests
Right click in the Yr 2 Phonics column, selecting 'Edit Reading Yr2 Sum2 Yr2 Phonics':
Creating your Data Return
Note: It is highly recommended that you update the contextual information in Target Tracker from your MIS before exporting any data. This will avoid any inaccuracies in the Contextual Data included in the file.
Guidance for Updating Pupil Information in Target Tracker
File > Export > Data Returns > Phonics Data Return
(This return will include the screening results for all Yr 1 children as well as those Year 2 children that have had to retake the test)
If all data is present you will be prompted to choose where you would like to save the file, please do not rename it. The filename is used as the address when you submit the file and is, therefore, extremely important.
Upload the file to your LA via S2S / COLLECT etc.
