To import Statutory Data into Target Tracker you will need a ctf. This can be;
- a ctf from the child / children's previous school, or,
- a ctf you have created from your MIS for one child, a year group or bespoke selection of children, or,
- a ctf you have downloaded from Get Information about Pupils (formerly Key to Success)
If you are looking to complete missing statutory data for a selection of children throughout the school, the best place to get this is Get Information about Pupils ( under DfE sign in). This method will extract data for all children, with a valid UPN, whose results were returned at the end of EYFS and/or Key Stage 1, including Phonics scores, regardless of which school they were in at the time.
To download:
Go to the Get Information about Pupils website
Login via DSI
Click the ‘'Search NPD using UPNS'
Enter all of the UPNs of the pupils that you wish to search for data for, on separate lines (if copied from Excel as above they will be on separate lines)
Search
If there are children on the list of names that you know do not have EYFS, Phonics or KS1 statutory data it is worth un ticking them as the file will be invalid with them in it and will need editing to import.
Download the ctf (XML file)
NB: Currently GIAP are producing CTF 23.0. So the file will need editing to be imported successfully into Target Tracker. To do this;
Save the file
To import:
This CTF file can then be imported into Target Tracker by clicking on File > Import > Update Assessments.
Unfortunately, if a pupil has no statutory data, they still appear in the file but with empty tags which our validator will not accept so if you get the message 'Invalid data file' please call us so we can take copy of the file from you and edit it. If there are just a few children in the file you may find you can open the file in Notepad, identify these children and remove their sections from the file, before saving and reimporting.
If you'd like support with this do give us a call.
