We advise that you always use the most up to date version of the Target Tracker software, especially when creating CTFs for data returns.
To check which version of Target Tracker you currently have installed;
Click on File > About
Click here to Download Target Tracker. Our website will always provide you with the installer for the latest version of the software, and does not require you to register/login to access this.
Once the installer file has downloaded, you will need to run the file, either by clicking on the 'Run' option, or clicking on the installer icon on the download bar at the bottom (processes vary dependent on your web browser).
- If installing on multiple PCs, you may want to Save the installer to save time for future installs. (Dependent on your browser, you will either be asked to 'Save' as an alternative to 'Run', or it will have automatically saved to your Downloads folder).
It is also possible for IT Technicians to install Target Tracker via group policy.

After clicking to Run the installer you will be taken into an installation wizard with a series of Next and Install buttons. You will need to accept the terms and conditions as part of the process. Do not change any of the default options presented.
If you arrive at a screen asking you to enter a username and password, this indicates that your login in to your school network does not grant you permissions to install software.
- This is not your Target Tracker username and password. Please check with an Administrator in your school for log in details for your school network with appropriate permissions before continuing.
If the process is successful the last screen will be one asking you to click Finish. You will now have a Target Tracker icon on your desktop that you can use to launch the program.
If this is the first time you have installed Target Tracker on the computer, you will be asked to 'Browse for the Login key file'. This is the file the software uses to connect with your database and is sent to the school when they are first set up, there should be a copy saved on your network. We can send a copy of this file to you if necessary. You will then need to have been set up with a login by someone with Admin access within your school, we have no control over who has access.
